ACHIEVEMENTS: A total of 955 metric tons of seed worth $339,000 was sold to more than 19,000 smallholder farmers during the program partnership.
PURPOSE: Improve access to quality inputs and services for smallholder farmers.
APPROACH: NCBA CLUSA, Oruwera, and Phoenix Seeds developed a multipronged distribution strategy to reach underserved rural farmers with improved inputs and services. They increased the capacity of Oruwera and Phoenix Seeds sales agents and lead farmers to sell improved seed and also held local seed fairs to further increase distribution.
